For Me I Think this referrence book is one of the most useful book i ever used. Well you can go to the internet and search for a word that you are curious about but what if you are in class or you are out of town with no computer how can you search for a word?
In Myself I always carry a pocket dictionary for at least in case of use. This Book is not for emergency use only but you can learn from this, you can learn about the word,spelling,definition,pronunciation, and meaning. If you have time just check some dictionary you can learn many things from it and to practice your vocabulary. Every Words has it own meaning and for Me i love reading dictionaries because every words has origins that is great to know and it teases the mind to think deeper and deeper.In the Internet you can go to some dictionary sites,it has many great things to see like word of the day? and new words are featured on some sites.
A Standard Dictionary are arranged alphabetically and you can see the word  is bold with the meaning of it.
Sometimes you can see a Parenthesis with every syllable of the word that is the correct pronunciation of it.
On Dictionary Sites there are words that is popular and the most searched, you can rely on those word if you want to learn some new words. Well For Me learning new words and bragging them to your friends is cool because that is a intelligent way to boast.
My Ending is Dictionary is a useful books in the library that can be seen mostly and you can learn many things and useful words to know.
